How the 2001-2002 system works:
Scoring High on the FCAT - Schools earn points for each percent
of students that score average to above average in Math, Reading and
Writing.
Making Annual Learning Gaines - Schools earn points for each
percent of students that increase an achievement level in Math, Reading
and Writing. Points are also earned for each percent of students
that stay at higher achievement levels.
If a school that otherwise would be graded B or C does not make
adequate progress for two years in a row, its final grade is reduced by
one letter grade. If less than 90% of a school's students were
tested, the school will automatically receive an F.
